Step By Step Easy Process Of Seaming Carpet Using Double Sided Tape

One of the most challenging factors at the time of laying a carpet on the floor is creating perfect seams. Your seams should be flat, smooth as well as invisible. Using double sided tape on carpet will help seaming your carpet perfectly & make your carpet flat & smooth without bunching up on a carpet. In order to seam carpet using double sided tape, go through the below-mentioned steps carefully & achieve the desired result of your work:
  1. Stretching The Carpet: First of all, lay out & spread the carpet entirely in the room where you are going to install it. Let it relax & make sure to keep it stretched for nearly an hour.
  2. Roll Half Of The Carpet: The next important step is to flatten & smoothen the half of the carpet back onto itself. Move the strips of carpet tape and adhere them down through the outermost parts of the floor in all exposed portions. Make tape X shapes with strips of tape at least 6 inches long every foot through the areas inside the perimeter of the room. Put in the protective paper on the front side of the tape.
  3. Unroll, Then Roll Again: Now, move the carpet over the taped portion; then smoothen up the opposite side of the carpet. Roll it far enough that you could see some of the tape on the floor. Tape the uncovered half of the floor, applying tape to the outermost parts and interior exactly the same way as you did with the first half.
  4. Making Cuts: After that, move the carpet and cut excess material by making slits starting from the top down & the wall down to the floor. With the help of a straightedge and utility knife, make the actual cuts. Cut around lumps and corners as long as the carpet lies flat and adjusts the floor perfectly.
  5. Peel The Backing Off Half The Tape: Next, bend half of the carpet back onto itself. Peel the paper backing off the uncovered tape, then rigorously set the carpet on the top the tape. Repeat the same process when you proceed towards the other side.
  6. Roll It Smooth: Finally, move over the carpet, making sure to run a carpet roller over the entire area, particularly, the outermost parts, to ensure the carpet and tape adhere together.
