How To Keep RV Drawers Closed: Two Easy Methods

Two Easy Methods To Keep RV Drawers Closed

An RV type of drawer is a box-shaped container that fits into the piece of wooden furniture in a way that it can be drawn out crosswise to reach its contents. Drawers are built into different types of furniture, such as cabinets, chests of drawers. The lifespan of drawers is near about 15-20 years if cared properly. Here are the two easy methods to keep your RV drawers closed, follow both the methods with steps carefully:

Method 1: Finding A Temporary Fix

Here are the steps for this method:
  • In order to keep your RV drawers closed, you need to tie the bungee cords around 2 or more RV drawer handles to keep them shut easily. If it is not possible to drill holes or install the new latches in the RV drawers then the bungee cords are a quick and easy way to fix the drawers that won't stay shut.
  • Next, you can also push the rolled-up rug in front of the low drawers. The tightly rolled carpet wedge against a low to your ground drawer will stop it at the opening route. You can also use your heavy towel in the same way.
  • You can also use the sticky magnets or velcro for your lighter drawers. This will easily give your drawer the extra bit of security & keep it shut on the road without drilling or screwing.
  • You may also need to pack the possessions in the cabinets or containers alternatively. Occasionally your drawer is simply too overloaded for the latch to stay closed properly. If you have only one drawer(problematic) which stay open all the time, then you need to try to decrease the load you are carrying in it or you can also empty it all together.

Method 2: Finding A Permanent Solution

Here are the steps for this method:
  • You need to screw in the strong magnetic latches. This type of latches come in two magnetic parts for either side of the drawer and will also keep the drawers shut on the road. The strong magnetic latches are mostly imperceptible and so they won’t ruin your decor.
  • Simply install the magnetic security latches. These imperceptible locks will hold the drawers shut and also are great if you want a security element.
  • Next, secure your drawers with child-safety catches, these screw-in catches are mostly designed to keep busy little hands out and very compelling at keeping the RV drawers shut even in the rough driving circumstances.
