- Step 1: First of all you need to mix a small batch of concrete according to the maker directions. Apply the concrete to any cracks or holes by using a putty knife or trowel. Let the applied concrete in the repaired areas to be set completely.
- Step 2: Once the concrete dried, now wear the safety glasses on your eyes and then you have to smooth the high spots with the help of a grinder after the concrete has cured and create a level surface carefully.
- Step 3: Spread the carpet (indoor-outdoor) adhesive on the treads & molded edges of your concrete steps by using a notched spreader.
- Step 4: Align the edge of your rolled carpet with the back & one side of the top step. Then over the adhesive you need to unroll the carpet. Smooth out the carpet with your both hands. Work from the center of the concrete step to the edges in order to get rid of any air bubbles under your carpet.
- Step 5: Now, fold the carpet but make sure to fold it over the molded front edge of the concrete step. Trim your carpet even with the bottom of the molded edge by using the utility knife. Press your carpet into the adhesive(indoor-outdoor) on the molded edge on the front of your concrete step.
- Step 6: Trim your carpet to the width of your concrete step's tread, if essential, using your utility knife & straightedge. Clean any stray adhesive from your concrete steps with adhesive solvent on a rag.
- Steps 7: You need to repeat your carpet installation process for each step.
