Part I- Buying The Carpet

  • Calculate the Size Dimensions: Start by calculating the size dimensions of the room where the carpet is going to get installed. Part III- Laying The Carpet

  • Lay The Tack Strips: Start by laying the tack strips by trimming the tack strips of the same length of one side of the wall and then affix it with the floor by using the masonry nails. The users can also use the nail glue to affix down the tack strips they are required to leave space in between the wall and the tack strips because the tacks will be used to tuck the carpet corners while the installation process.
  • Lay the Padding strips: Lay down the padding strips and to do so the users need to cut down the padding strips of the room length and then lay it to the room side. Keep the rows adjoined and then cover up the seams by using the duct tape. Cut Off the unneeded padding by using the utility knife. Then spread the glue over the edges of padding so as to affix it with the floor.
  • Lay The Carpet: Then users need to trim down the carpet as per the exact room size leaving near about 15.2 cm excess carpet on all of the floor sides. The pattern of the carpet should match the length in order to hide the seams. Then the users need to use the steam iron to activate the adhesive side and then affix the pieces together respectively.
  • Trim Down The Unneeded Carpet: The users need to trim down all the unneeded carpet and then arrange the carpet towards the back area of the tack strip by using the putty knife.
