Easy Parts & Steps To Install Carpet In Basement

Part I- Buying The Carpet

  • Step 8: Once the floor is cleaned up completely the users then need to control the temperature of the room and the ideal temperature of the room should be 35°C and the humidity should be 65% as this temperature will help in the easy installation of the carpet.

Part III- Laying The Carpet

  • Step 1: The users need to start laying the tack strips and to do so they need to trim the tack strip piece of having the length of one wall and then affix it with the floor by using the masonry nails but the users need to make sure that the tack strips should be placed towards the wall. The users can also use the nail glue to affix the tack strips and then they need to leave the space in between the wall and the strip so that the tacks will be used to tuck the carpet corners while the installation process.
  • Step 2: Then lay the strips of the padding and to do so they need to trim the strips of the padding of having the room length and then lay it aside to the side surface of the room. The users need to keep their rows adjoined and then wrap up the seams by using the duct tape. cut the unneeded padding by using the utility knife. Then spread the glue over the edges of padding so as to affix it with the floor.
  • Step 3: Then users need to trim the carpet as per the size leaving near about 15.2 cm excess on all the sides. The carpet patterns should match with the length so as to hide the seams. Then the users need to use the steam iron to trigger off the adhesive side and then affix the pieces together.
  • Step 4: Then at last, the users need to trim all the unneeded carpet and then drive the carpet towards the back area of the tack strip by using the putty knife.
