Easy Methods For Removing Deep Imprints Out Of Carpet
The carpets can be made from the natural as well as Synthetic fibers, and both have different methods for removing the imprints, here the user can find both methods:
Method 1: Synthetic Fibers
In case the carpet has the synthetic fibers then follow the below steps:
- Remove The Furniture: The first step is to remove all the furniture from the carpet so that the imprints become visible.
- Protect The Floor: In the next step the user needs to protect the floor under the carpet, for that place rag, towel or any other absorbent material under the affected area of the carpet. If the user will not do this then the floor can get damaged.
- Ice Cubes: Here the user needs to bring the ice cubes to fill the imprints, place ice cubes on the affected area and let it melt there and the carpet fibers will slowly absorb the water. The fibers should absorb more water so that it will become swollen and will reduce the imprints.
- Overnight: Let the ice cube to melt on the affected area and leave the carpet for over a night or for at least 4 hours. This will help the fibers to regain their shape.
- Blotting: After the carpet has absorbed water, then take a clean towel to blot the area this will also absorb the excess water. After finishing the blotting process, remove the cloth under affected area.
- Fluff The Fibers: After the fibers have gained their original shape, then fluff them with the help of fingers or coin and start fluffing in multiple directions. The user can also use the carpet brush.
Method 2: Carpet With Natural Fibers
- Expose Dents and Protect Floor: In this step the user needs to expose the dents or imprints by removing the furniture and then protect the floor by placing some cloth under the carpet where imprint has occurred. For the natural fibers steam is used to remove the dents, and this is the reason to place a towel or rag under the carpet so that the floor will be safe.
- Steam: Now it is time to apply the steam to the affected area for that fill a steam iron with water keep the setting at the high. Once the iron is heated than apply the steam on the affected area by holding the iron 5 to 6 inches away from the carpet. Continue applying the steam on the affected area until it becomes hot and moist. In case of the steam iron, the user can fill a spray bottle to mist the area then use a hairdryer to blow the affected area.
- Stubborn Imprints: In case of the stubborn imprints the user needs to take a towel dampened in water remove the excess water from the towel then place it on the affected area. keep the iron on medium setting. Place the iron directly on the towel and run in back forth direction, run the iron on the area for about a minute.
- Dry And Fluff The Fibers: Now use a clean towel for blotting the area. Then use the fingers to fluff it up.
