2 Easy Methods And Items Needed To Get Wax Out Of Carpet

The carpet always looks good in our home that fits in every decor, the lifespan of carpet is near about 5-6 years if you take proper care of it but still sometimes your carpet can catch stains, wax, grease, and other things. If you are facing issues like these including wax and you want to get rid of wax from your carpet then you need to collect the given items first before following the 2 easy methods:

Item List

  • Ice/Ice Pack/Something Frozen & Butterknife/Credit Card/Scraper
  • Carpet Cleaner Or Cleaning Solvent & Rubbing Alcohol
  • Vacuum Cleaner & Paper Bag
  • Iron & Towel
  • Pare Cloth

Method 1: Freezing It Out

After collecting the mentioned items now here are the 4 easy steps for this method:
  • Your first step is to place a bag of ice on the area that has been affected with stain on your carpet. This process will solidify and harden it and making it very easier to pick off from your carpet. When the wax is completely solid then remove & set aside.
  • Take a butter knife & chip away at the stain on your carpet. Get rid of it as much as possible, this will help you to remove stains of wax from your carpet.
  • Spray the cleaner to the area that has been affected when the wax is gone from your carpet. A carpet spray or cleaning solvent is also fine for this process. If you see a bit of a stain left on your carpet, then you need to rub it with the help of rubbing alcohol to remove the color from your carpet. After applying the solvent on carpet blot it with a clean tattered fragment and freshwater to remove the left stains over it.
  • Now you need to clean with the help of a vacuum cleaner because your carpet will face a pretty harrowing experience while cleaning the stains, simply vacuum it to get the texture as it was before.

Method 2: Melting It Away

Here are the 5 easy steps for this method:
  • First of all, you need to place a sheet of a brown paper bag but remember not to use a plastic bag over the spot affected area of your carpet. You can get this bag easily from the grocery store or the lunch bag available in your home will do this job truly. Now start work with this bag, place it on the edge of the affected stain area.
  • Now you need an iron for this step, set your iron on warm mode but always remember that do not let your iron too hot because it can easily melt your brown paper bag and also never use the steam mode of your iron because the thing you need is just heat.
  • Carry on, now iron over the paper bag on the stained area gently. The paper bag will absorb the wax easily and will get out of your carpet. As it will get saturated, then slide it out on the towel and expose the wax on the new part of your bag which should not be covered in wax.
  • Now use rubbing alcohol to remove any leftover stains. Simply place a piece of cloth over the stains and reapply the iron with a steam mode on. The dye should flow in the applied cloth and should keep away from your carpet.
  • Finally you have to spray the affected area of carpet with carpet spray or a cleaning liquid for good measure. You can do two things first you can take a cloth to blot it or second thing is you can take the cloth on the top of that area which is sprayed by carpet spray then iron it with the same setting which you used before steam setting, just the same as you do with the rubbing alcohol in the aforementioned step.
