One of the major rules for installing vinyl plank floorings is that the surface area needs to be flat:- Floor Scraper: Use the floor scraper before installing the vinyl plank flooring, this will help to make sure that there is no high spots on the subfloor.
- Sander: Some times the floor scraper does not work that time the user can use the belt sander or a floor grinder, that depends on the type of subfloor material that is used under the vinyl plank.
- Cleaning: Once the sanding is completed the next step is to clean the dirt and debris with the vacuum cleaner, the user needs to make sure that the subfloor is clean before installing the vinyl plank floor.
Perimeters
The other Perimeters that the user should consider while installing the vinyl plank flooring:- Gap: There should be a gap for the expansion in areas like bathtub or cabinet base, there should be a visible cut off around 1/8 inch from the edge of whatever the user is installing up against. The gap can be filled with the caulk.
- Baseboard Areas: In case of the baseboard areas, the user can have 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch gap, that depends on the thickness of the baseboard, which will cover this gap.
