How To Reupholster A Leather Couch With Attached Cushions: Steps

Steps To Reupholster The Leather Couch With Fixed Cushions

If the leather couch is damaged and buying a new one is not affordable then reupholstering is the wise idea to make it new in a cost-effective manner. The reupholstering of the leather couches with attached cushions is a bit harder but can be done with the following steps:
  1. Old Leather: The old leather from the couch needs to be removed by turning the couch upside down. Keep the pieces aside for measurements.
  2. Measurement: Take the measurement of the old leather to buy the exact amount of the new upholstery. Get at least one yard extra from the old one.
  3. Use Fabric: Cut the leather according to the measurement to use it over the couch.
  4. Tucking: Start tucking the leather from the cushions to the entire couches. Fill the gap between cushions and back.
  5. Stretch: The leather needs to be tightly stretched throughout the couch and staple it with the couch frame finely. Ensure to fill all the gaps.
  6. Finish: Once the entire couch is re-upholstered using new leather finish it by stapling from the base and trim the excess fabric using electric scissors.
