Steps To Get Rid Of Laminate From Kitchen Cabinets

Laminates are used on kitchen cabinets that match with the tile and wood. Laminates are extensively used for home construction. In order to install the new laminate on the cabinets, the older laminate needs to be removed. The steps are mentioned below for removing the laminate from the kitchen cabinets:
  1. Heat The Laminate From Upper Edge: Take an electric heat gun and start applying heat on to the laminate from the upper edge. The electric gun is used in to and fro motion. Apply heat on horizontal bands so that the cement across the laminate softens and the cabinet panels remain safe.
  2. Detach The Laminate: Then insert the blade of utility knife between the cabinet panel and laminate. Pull the laminate and remove it from the cabinet, a dowel can also be used to separate the laminate and cabinet panel.
  3. Heat The Larger Areas Of The Laminate: Perform first two steps gradually and remove the laminate sheets from the cabinets. Then apply heat on the larger areas of the laminate so that the laminate sheet quickly removes from the cabinet.
