Steps To Polish Naturally
Ingredients The Natural Furniture Polish
The main ingredients to prepare natural furniture polish include:
Oil: Olive or Jajoba ( 1 cup)
White Vinegar: 1/4 (cup)
Lemon Essential Oil: This is optional or if it is available add (three to four drops).
Preparation
- Take a spray bottle and mix all the ingredients to create a blend.
- Use lint-free cloth and spray mixture it and rub it on furniture well to make it lustrous.
- Apply using a paintbrush in curved areas.
This will enhance the shine as well as the life of the furniture.
Note: The polish must be stored in the cool and dark place and must be repeated once in the month. Do shake properly.
How To Polish With Wax
Another way to polish wooden furniture is to apply wax known as "Paste Wax" that is available in the hardware stores. The steps to achieve shiny furniture using wax are mentioned below:
Coating: Prior application of the Wax it is important to coat wooden furniture with one of the following polyurethane, varnish, lacquer, or shellac and let it dry.
Cleaning: Promptly clean the dust or other dirt from the furniture because dirt may make furniture look dull even after waxing.
Wax Application: Take a microfiber cloth and apply the little amount of wax on it and polish the furniture well. Applying a thick wet coat should be avoided as it may not offer the desired result. The wax should be applied smoothly on the furniture surface in a circular direction.
Dry: Let the wax polish dry about 20 or more minutes.
Buffing: Once the wax is completely dry follow by buffing furniture piece by clean soft cloth to get the attractive shine back.
