Beeswax is a wax which is produced naturally by honey bees which can be used for various purposes such as in the making of Beeswax polish. In order to make a natural Beeswax furniture polish a user needs to follow these steps;
- The tools & materials required to make a Beeswax polish are mineral oil, beeswax, crockpot, and a tin or container for the finished product.
- First, a user needs to melt beeswax (suppose 2 oz) in a crockpot but he needs to stay close to wax as it is flammable.
- Once it is completely melted, he needs to add mineral oil (suppose 6 oz) in the crockpot. As oil is colder than wax, it will clump up which requires stirring for few minutes till it melts back.
- After that, pour the mixture into a container or two and wait for few hours till the polish hardens.
- As the polish cools & hardens, it can be used on any furniture surface with a dry cloth.
How To Polish Wood Furniture With Beeswax
The steps to polish wood furniture with Beeswax polish are given below;
- The First step will be to clean the wood by applying paint thinner with a soft and clean cloth on the surface of the wood.
- After that, let the wood completely dry up for up to 2-3 hours in between the user can make the Beeswax furniture polish.
- Then the user needs to Apply the Beeswax Furniture polish on the wooden surface using soft & clean cloth which should not leave fuzz on the surface. The polish should be rubbed on to the surface using circular motion.
- Then leave the furniture for 15-20 minutes so that it can absorb the polish.
- After that, the user needs to use clean cloth in order to remove excess greasiness from the cloth which includes cleaning of wax from crannies and nooks.
- At last, the user needs to leave the furniture in the warmish room for up to 24 hours so that the wax can fully cure the furniture before put into use.
