How To Measure For Slipcovers: Easy Steps For Measuring Slipcovers

Easy Steps For Measuring The Slipcovers

The slipcovers usually offer a new life and look to the furnishing items. The slipcovers are not meant for altering the upholstery or the frame of the furniture item. The slipcovers can be washed easily and that is why it is ideal to get used by those users having small children or the pet animals. The users can easily measure the slipcovers for the furnishing items at home by following the below-mentioned steps:
  • Take Measurements: The users need to find out the fundamental outer measurements of the furniture item and to do so they need to start measuring from the base of the floor to the top point over the back and then mark this measurement as the supreme height. Then they need to measure the thickness of the furniture item by calculating from the left outer corner to the right outer corner and also note down this calculation. They need to record the thickness from the front area to the back and also calculate the area around the border of the furnishing item at its thickest point and then record the calculations as the circumference. It is very helpful to note down an outline of the furnishing piece or the users can also use the picture of the furnishing item and note down all the calculations directly over the plain paper or on the picture.
  • Add Measurements: Then they need to add the piece-limited measurements and to do so they need to start measuring from the inner arm side on the left area to the inner arm side on the right area and then note down these measurements as the inner thickness of the chairs, sofas and the loveseats as well. In order to measure the thickness of the armless furnishing items, the users need to start from the left side then to the right side at their widest side.
  • Calculate: Then then they need to calculate the thickness of the T-cushions from the exterior left corner of cushion to the exterior right corner. The T-cushion is the type of seat cushion that is having the front corner that gets even extended to the front arms of the chair or of the sofa. The depth of the T-cushions can be measured from the central front side to the central back corner. The width of T-cushions can be calculated from the top area to the base area accordingly
  • Note Down Thickness: Then they need to note down the thickness of the other seating cushions at the space from the left to the right, the thickness as the space from the front cushion side to the backside of the cushion, and the width as space from the topmost surface to the base surface.
  • Note Down Measurement: Then they need to note down the measurements of the seat height and this is the calculations from the base of the floor to the seat top for those slipcovers that cover up the entire surface of the removable cushions or for those furniture items that are not having the removable cushions like the chairs of the dining room.
  • Measure The Height: Then they need to measure the height of the backside of the upholstered chair like the armless dining chair, the user needs to start from the top side of the chair to the backside of the chair. The back front chair height can be calculated from the chair top downwards to the seat cross-section at the inside area of the back.
  • Calculate Width & Length: Then they need to calculate the seat width of the dining chairs and to do so they need to start from the front corner to the topmost area of the legs and to measure the length of the leg they need to measure from the base of the floor to the top side of the legs.
  • Wing Calculations: Then the users need to define the wing calculations of the winged back chairs and to do so they need to start from the top side of the wing downwards to the joint that is connecting the wing and the inside area of the chair. The thickness of the wing is measured from the joint that is connecting the outside area to the inside winged area to the posture that is in between the backside of the chair with the outside area of the wing.
  • Back Perimeter: Finally they need to calculate the back perimeter of the recliner and to do so they need to measure back and the front side of the recliner.
