Couch Measuring Tips For Slipcovers

If you have a couch at your home and you want to measure it so that you can fit slipcover to the couch, you can do so with ease. Follow the below given measuring tips carefully to fulfill your result:
  • Regulate the basic outside measurement of the couch. You need to measure from your floor to the highest point on the back and then record the taken measurement as maximum height. Measure the width of your couch by simply measuring from the left edge (outside) to the right edge(outside) and then record this measurement. Also, record the depth as the measurement from back to front.
  • Now measure around the perimeter of your couch piece at its widest point and record this measurement as the girth. It helps to draw on the outline of your couch or you can also use a photo of a similar couch and record all the measurement precisely onto the picture or drawing.
  • Now add couch-specific measurements. Measure from the inside arm on left to right arm and record this measurement as the inside width for sofas, chairs, loveseat. The width appraisal for armless couch is from the left to right at the widest point.
  • Now you need to take the measurement of the t-cushions width from the left to the right outer edge. The T-cushions is a type of seat cushions with the front edge which extends in front of the arms of a sofa or chair. The T-cushion depth is from the center front along the way to the center-back edge. The density of your cushion is the appraisal from the top surface to the bottom surface.
  • Now you need to record the width of all the seats of your cushion from right to left and the depth as the distance from the front of your cushion to your back and the thickness measurement from the top surface to the bottom surface.
  • Now record the measurement of the seat-height. This measurement is from your floor to the top of your seat for the slipcovers which cover all the removable cushions of couch pieces without removable cushions, like dining room chairs.
  • Now calculate the back height of your upholstered and armless dining chair as that from the top of your chair at the highest point on back to top of the legs. Front back height of this chair is from the top of your chair down to the interchange of your seat & the inside back.
  • Measure the thickness of dining room chair seat from the front edge of your chair to the top of your legs and then leg length from the top of your legs to the floor.
  • Now specify the wing measurements on the wing of the back chair. The inside wing length is the measurement from the top of your wing down to the seam which connects the inside wing and arm. The measuring wing width from seam joining inside to outside wing to the tuck betwixt the inside wing & chair back.
