  1. Sanding: Firstly you need to sand the plywood with the help of the orbital sander having 100 grit sandpaper, keep sanding until all the vestiges of finish and surface color are removed. After that switch to the 120 grit sandpaper and start sanding again as this will help to remove the remaining scratches that are left behind by the coarse paper.
  2. Bleach: Once the sanding is done the next step is to go for the bleaching, with the two-part peroxide wood bleach, this type of bleach is regarded as one of the best bleach for removing the natural color of the wood. The user can apply this bleach in two ways either the user can apply part A with the brush then part B or can even mix both of them together and then apply quickly after making the solution.
  3. Drying: After applying the solution let the wood to dry completely.
  4. Vinegar Solution: In this step the user needs to prepare a solution by mixing 2 parts of water with 1 part of the vinegar and then apply it on the wood with the brush, this will help to neutralize the bleach, once done then let it dry completely.
  5. Again Sand: In this step the wood needs to be sanded one more time but this time with the help of 150 grit sandpaper, this time sand with the hand going in the direction of the grains, this will help to remove any scratches and will make the surface smooth.
  6. Distressing: Now in this step the user needs to start distressing by hitting the wood with the help of the chain or can also achieve the effects by gouging with a screwdriver that should be flat-headed.
  7. Priming: Here the user needs to mix the white wood primer with the thinner, then paint on the wood and quickly wiping with a rag, apply the rag along the direction of the grains.
  8. Finish: After the priming is done now it is time to apply a coat of the clear finish that will protect the look, it is advisable to use the water-based lacquer or polyurethane, let it dry completely then give it light sanding with the 220-grit sandpaper.
