  • Upholstery and underlayment paint
  • Board, Fabric Glue, Roofing Nails
  • Washers, Mattresses, Toppers
  • Craft cover button kit, Gorilla Glue, Batting
  • Fabric Hot Glue Sticks

  • Hammer, Scissors
  • Staple Gun, Ryobi Hot Glue Gun
  • Iron

  • Plywood Base: The first step is to cut the plywood as per the measurement of the bench top.
  • Foam: The foam needs to be cut according to the dimensions of the bench top. The thickness of the foam must be 3 inches.
  • Attach Foam: Once the famous cut according to the dimension place the rough side of it towards the board and attach it using the spray adhesive with the base of the board.
  • Tufting Pattern: Plan carefully what kind of tufting needs to be created such as rows, buttons, etc. Once planed ensure to mark the areas where buttons are required to be inserted in the foam.
  • Cut Holes: Create the holes in the foam using scissors. Ensure to cut the holes deep so that the buttons will reach down to the wood base.
  • Batting: Take batting and wrap it to the foam from all corners and follow it up by securing it with the staplers using a staple gun.
  • Trim Batting: The batting in excess around the edges need to be trimmed.
  • Indentations: The indentions are required to be inserted into the batting holes using the fingers. The best is to add the roofing nails in order to keep the indentions marked.
  • Layout: Get the fabric for upholstering and iron it prior to attaching it with the cushion.
  • Nail/ Washers: The process must be initiated from the middle and center of the bench.
  • Washer: The nails must be inserted into the washer by pushing the nail into the drilled hole. Use a hammer to push the nails slowly down.
  • Fold Sides: Fold the fabric from all sides including the edges and corners and follow it by securing with the help of the staple gun.
  • Pull/ Tight: Ensure to pull and keep the fabric tight while stapling.
  • Trim: The excess fabric needs to be cut or trimed.
  • Cover Staples: The staples need to be covered using floor underlayment. Once done apply glue over the staples.
  • Button Covers: For more enhanced look the buttons needs to be covered. This can be done using the craft cover button kit. The covering must be done according to the instructions labeled on the product.
  • Gluing: Apply the gorilla glue to the button and nailhead is required.
  • Trim Edges: Use the iron rod to cut the hemline from drapes to make it straight.
  • Glue: The application of the hot glue around all edges are recommended and the tufted bench is ready.
