  3. Gluing: In case the user is gluing the laminate floor with the subfloor, then the sanding is very important to remove all the paint, adhesives, oil, wax, sealers or other material. After the sanding is completed then go for vacuuming to remove all the dust.
  4. Moisture Meter: Now the user has to check the moisture of the subflooring with the help of the moisture meter. Match the moisture criteria with the manufacturer's instructions. Incase the ply board is over the concrete then check the moisture content of both.
  5. Repair: Now the next step is to repair any squeaky or loose boards by screwing them safely into the floor joists.

Prepare The Subfloor

  1. Moisture Barrier: The first step in preparing the floor is to unroll the moisture barrier but be careful not to overlap the edges. At the end of the floor from each side leave the roll extra which will be trimmed later.
  2. Plywood: In case the new floor is parallel to the room's length and joists, that time the user needs to reinforce the subfloor with the extra piece of plywood.

Create A Guide

In order to run a square floor mark a guideline on the subfloor.
  1. Center: The first step is to mark the centre of each of the subfloor. In order to form a cross in the center of the room simply snap a chalk line.
  2. Measure: The next step is to measure the distance between the starting wall and the center point. In order to create the guideline measurement subtract the manufacturer’s expansion gap from the measurement.
  3. New Figure: The next step is to measure the parallel centerline to each end of starting wall and make a mark according to the new figure. Now form the guideline for the starting floor, simply by making a line that connects each new mark. This is the simplest way to level the plywood subfloor.
