  1. Expansion: It is very important to keep the expansion gap while the installation of the laminate flooring. The recommended expansion gap is 1/4-inch. As if the flooring is installed without gap it will result in the humps. To repair the humps from the laminate flooring it's very important to put a heavy weight on the affected area to make them disappear. Alternatively, if it does not work the baseboards are supposed to be lifted to check if there is the recommended space between the floor and walls.
  2. Even Subfloor: The second thing to fix the uneven laminate floor is to walk on it to check if the subfloors are flat or even. If during walking the humps are high it may be because of the uneven subflooring sheets. If so the flooring needs to be lifted to make the necessary repairs.
  3. Disassembling: Disassembling is possibly another cause of uneven laminate flooring and can be repaired by removing the baseboards from any corner of the room with the help of the rubber grouting float tool doing so will keep it protected from getting damaged.
  4. Fixing Humps: If during laminate flooring there were no expansion gaps left then boards need to be removed from the floor.
  5. Trim: After the removal, use table saw to trim them and follow up by applying the leveling compound in order to fix the uneven joints.
  6. Belt Sander: Use belt sander and cold chisel to make concrete under the flooring even to fix the humps.
  7. Excess Unevenness: If in case the floor unevenness is in excess entire laminate needs to be removed.
  8. Level Subfloor: Once done, level the subfloor again as per the manufactures direction and benchmarks.
