Easy Steps To Install The Subfloor In Bathroom

The bathroom's subfloor is no different than any other subfloor, the only difference is that bathrooms are usually smaller and the floor must be able to withstand against the weight of a bathtub. However, the installation time for the bathroom subfloor varies depending on the size of the bathroom. The easy steps to install the Subfloor in Bathroom are as follows:
  1. Measure: First of all, the user needs to measure the bathroom's size, accordingly, calculate the amount subfloor like plywood.
  2. Construction Adhesive: Once the measurement is done the next step is to apply the construction adhesive on the floor joists under the first sheet of plywood. The reason for using the construction adhesive is that it will add an extra layer of strength and keep the floor free from squeaking later on.
  3. Lay: Now the user needs to lay the first layer of plywood which should be perpendicular to the floor joist. Start working from the left to right and its better to start in the back corner. Tighten the plywood with the 8 penny nails that should be spaced 16 inches apart.
  4. Next Sheet: The next step is to apply more adhesive under the next sheet of the subfloor and install it ahead of the previously installed piece, lengthwise. Carefully join the joints together and fix with 8 penny nails in case of the plywood.
