The Lacquer is a conserving wood finish. Black lacquer is usually used on pianos and other types of fine furnishings. Glossy lacquer will catch dust & fingerprints very easily, but the most lacquered furniture has glossy finished or satin-finished on the surface of the furniture, and it is very simple to clean, no need to use a lot of cleaning products on this type of furniture. Here are the 5 easy steps in order to clean your black lacquer furniture without wasting your precious time and get better results:
- Step 1: Before performing the cleaning process you need to dust your black lacquer by using a soft cloth first. You can use a microfiber dusting cloths or any other soft cloth such as old T-shirt material.
- Step 2: Once done, now dampen your selected cloth in water(warm). Wring out any excess water from your cloth and wipe down your lacquer furniture by following the grains, remember when you finish your wiping then immediately dry your furniture with a clean dry cloth, also rubbing with the grain of your furniture. After following this process then you can only clean your furniture normally.
- Step 3: Now, clean any unexhausted smudges with help of a damp, soapy cloth. You will need a dime-size drop, you can use any mild soap but an oil soap for wood furniture will work best.
- Step 4: If there are any white rings (caused by water glasses) then remove it by wiping it with the help of a cloth dampened in mineral spirits, or you can also use a lightly unsmooth paste of baking soda and mineral oil.
- Step 5: Finally polish your black lacquer only when it is necessary to do, and only when if your furniture has a high-gloss finish, instead than a satin (low-gloss) finish. T do this work, use only a lacquer-safe polish and spray the polish softly on the cloth and then wipe lightly with the grain of your furniture. Never use silicone-based polish because it can damage your black lacquer furniture easily.
