Allow it to sit for a few minutes before blotting it with the help of a clean water.

Method 3: Baking Soda And Vinegar

Baking soda & vinegar is another great method when it comes to getting rid of old grease stains. It is important to test it out on an unnoticeable area of your carpet before you treat the stain. Apply or spread a layer of dry baking soda on the stain. Then, combine or put together a cup of white vinegar with a cup of water as well as a few drops of dish soap in a spray bottle. The vinegar will foam as soon as it hits the baking soda which will clean the stain. Allow it to stay on the affected area for a few hours. It will harden, however, you can break it up before using your vacuum to suck it up.
