4. Apply: Before applying the finish, it is very important to clean the sanding dust from the area. 5. Another Coat: Once the first coat is dried then sand lightly with the 320 grit sandpaper, then wipe the dust and apply other coat, for the final coat sand with 320-grit, then move to 400, and finally 600-grit sandpaper. Always sand in the direction of the grains.
6. Polish: Now the final step is to apply the aerosol polyurethane which will give the piece a smooth feel, simply hold the spray nozzle at least 12 inches from the piece and then carefully spray across the piece without stopping. One thin coat is enough.
7. Wax: At last apply the small amount of automotive wax to hide the fine grains. Buff with a soft rag.
