The awning is a great way to give the backyard or porch some shade without the need to build a whole new structure. Now the user needs to account for the length of the brackets and carefully line the center of the awning up with the center area where it is to be installed .
Brackets: Mark the spot where the brackets will be installed on the wall. Usually, the awning will come with 2 to 3 brackets which should be mounted on the wall. Using the straight-line as a guide, hold up the brackets at both ends and right in the middle, then use a pencil to mark the spot for drilling them. It is very important to make sure that the brackets will line up.
Drill Holes: For the mounting bracket screws drill the holes on the marked spots. Read the awning instructions for the exact drill bit number to use. Drill holes where the mounting brackets will go.
Install The Brackets: With the help of screws using a screwdriver or drill install the brackets. Line the brackets up on the holes and then install the screws that are provided with the awning. It is advisable to make sure that each of the brackets is straight enough by using a level. Also, attach a nut as well as a washer to each screw.
Lift The Awning: Have a second person which will help in lifting the awning. Reach up to the brackets. Slide the awning into the brackets, it is important to make sure that it is straight and also it fits smoothly. The end of the awning should not stick out of the brackets from both sides.
Fasten The Awning Bar: Depending on the type of awning, use either a large bolt or simply a screw to attach the awning on the brackets. Now, in this step, the user needs to attach the hardware into the brackets and right over the awning bar to hold it in place.
