Steps & Items Needed To Prevent Condensation Around Door Frame

Steps For This Process

First of all, using a putty knife or utility knife, remove the old caulk present on your aluminum door doorstep where it meets your doorjambs, finished floor & around the front of your door.
Now you need to scrape off any leftover caulk or residue with the help of a razor blade.
The next thing is to take the measurement of the bottom length of the door. Then, using a felt-tipped pen, transfer the measurement to your door sweep.
Next make the setting of your door sweep on a steady, work on a flat work facet with the edge that needs to be cut hanging off the side. Clamp your door scour to your work surface with a c-clamp to make sure that it remains stable while you cut it.
After that, using a utility knife, cut the neoprene or rubber flap of your door sweep to the intended size.
Carefully cut your metal flange, or the top strip of your door sweep with nail holes, to size by using a hacksaw.
You now need to close your door and then hold the metal flange up against your door, installed so that the bottom edge of the flap of the sweep comes into contact with the aluminum doorstep. You now need to mark the screw holes onto your door with the help of a pencil.
Then drill pilot holes on the screw marks with the help of a drill and a 3/32-inch drill bit.
Finally, you need to hold the metal flange of your door sweep on the bottom of your door and then align the screw holes with the pilot holes. Now you need to drive all the provided screws into the screw holes and your door with an electric screwdriver.

Useful Tips

Check the door's weatherstripping- the felt, metal, or foam strips that line your doorjamb. If they are loose or there are gaps betwixt the weather stripping & your door and they will need to be replaced, as they are contributing to some of the air entering the home, which will easily cause the condensation to form on your aluminum threshold.
