If you have a simple table at your home and you are interested in turning this table into a farmhouse table, you can do it very easily. The users simply need to follow the below mentioned steps in order to get the desired result:
  1. Gather All The Materials: The users need to start by gathering all the tools and the materials that they require while accomplishing this task like sandpaper, tack cloth, wood stain, paint brush, gloves, cloth and the painter's tape as well.
  2. Clean Up The Surface: Before proceeding towards any step the users need to wear the rubber gloves so as to protect them from touching any harmful chemical. Then they need to use the sandpaper and rub it over the entire surface of the table so as to scrape off all the debris particles and the rough spots as well. Then after scraping the users need to clean up the sanding dust from the table by using the tack cloth.
  3. Use The Primer: Then the users need to use the oil build primer and apply it over the entire surface of the table by using the paintbrush and then let the primer layer to get dried off completely.
  4. Apply The Paint Layers: Once the primer layer is dried off completely the users then need to apply the dark paint layer over the entire table surface by using the soft-bristled brush and then let it dry completely. Once the first paint layer is dried the users then need to use the fine-grit sandpaper and rub it gently over the paint layer so as to let the primer layer penetrate through some spaces. Clean up the sanding residue by using the tack cloth and then apply another light-toned paint color over the table surface in the same pattern.
  5. Apply The Spot-paint: After slightly sanding down the second paint coat the users need to spot-paint the table surface by using the white color paint and then gently rub the sandpaper over it so as to create the old look and then wipe away the dust from the table.
  6. Use The Varnish: At last, the users need to seal down the paint layer by using the water-based Polyurethane varnish over the entire surface of the table and then allow it to dry before using the item.
