4 Easy Parts & Items Needed To Install Carpet Tiles

Part 1: Designing Your Floor

  • You first need to choose the best style of the carpet tile because the carpet tile comes in variety of types. Choose a carpet tile that will commendation the colors of your room. There are two types of carpet tile available in the market, first is peel-off adhesive on the back & second that has no adhesive but the peel-off adhesive style tile is consistently more expensive.
  • Once you've selected your carpet tile style, now simply measure the square footage of your floor, where you are going to install it.
  • After measuring everything, now draw a layout as well as sections of the floor which you want to carpet on a paper piece. Now arrange the carpet tiles in your design to style which you like the most.
  • Next you have to position the carpet tile in the same direction for the uniform design. Each carpet tile should have some arrows on the tile which helps you to easily determine which directions the carpet tile is facing. Line the carpet tiles so that they are all facing in the same order for a uniform design.

Part 2: Fitting The Tiles

  • Now lay down 4 tiles in each portion of the cross. Position each of your carpet tiles so that the sides of your carpet tile line up with the chalk cross that you make before. Do not use gummy just to be sure that your carpet tiles fit properly.
  • Lay down your carpet tiles from the center out, place your next carpet tiles right against the edge of the 4 carpet tiles you have in the center & work your way out to the edges of your room. Work on filling in each quadrant earlier moving onto the next tile. Continue to lay down your tile until you've reached the edges of your room.

Part: Cutting Tiles To Fill The Gaps

  • Measure the gap betwixt your carpet tile & your wall. By using the tape measure, measure the distance betwixt your wall & the outer edge of your carpet. You will fill in this space with a cut tile.
  • Flip your carpet tile over & mark the assessment. Use a straightedge to draw a consecutive line down the back of your carpet so that one portion is the same size as the gap betwixt the wall & your carpet.
  • Cut your carpet tile with the help of a razor blade, place your carpet tile which you are going to cut on top of the piece of scrap carpet or cardboard so that the razor blade does not damage anything under your carpet. Cut the line that you drew by using the flat edge of a level or measuring triangle to act as your guide. Start your work making a couple of light cuts into your carpet earlier applying more pressure to the razor blade & cutting through it wholly.
  • Fit your carpet tile into the gap. Take the piece of carpet tile that you just cut & then fit it into the gap.
  • Repeat these steps until you've filled all the gaps in with carpet tile.

Part 4: Adhering The Tiles To The Floor

  • You need to peel off the back of your carpet tiles & press them onto your floor.
  • Next, apply the carpet tape or glue to the back of your tiles if there is no adhesive.
  • Lay your carpet tiles down so that they fit absolutely on your floor.
  • Repeat the previous process until all of your carpet tiles are glued to your floor.
