Detach The Existing Upholstery Of The Couch

  1. Step 1: The users need to start by finding the right couch as most of the furnishing items are crafted to get upholstered easily just like the car seats. The users are advised not to abandon their sofa rather than this they need to reupholster it and start using it again.
  2. Step 2: The users then need to choose the couch that will fit their taste and the users need to find the couch of their style that can be used as the alternative till the time they will finish the re-upholstering process.
  3. Step 3: The users are advised to take the pictures of the couch while detaching its fabric or detaching any part of the couch. The users need to take close pictures of that area that is difficult to disassemble. The photos will help the users in the re-assembling process as they can easily have the look if they got confused anywhere.
  4. Step 4: The users then need to carefully detach the existing fabric from the couch but the users need to make sure that they won't damage the other items of the couch like stuffing. The users need to detach the fabric by placing the sofa towards its upside-down area or towards its back and then gently detach all the fabric from the base of the couch. Then they need to turn the couch towards its upside side up and then need to detach the fabric from the back, arms and the deck of the couch. If the users carefully removed all the old fabric without damaging it then they need to save it and use it as the pattern to trim up the new fabric accordingly.

Affixing The New Upholstery

Step 2: The users then need to start trimming their new fabric and they need to lay the fabric on a flat surface and then place the old saved cover and place it over the new one and trim the new fabric according to its outlines respectively. The users need to trim near about 1/2 from the total measurements at the seamed corners of the couch and at the stapled corners they need to trim near about 2-3 more that can be used to wrench the new trimmed fabric to the surface of the sofa respectively.
  3. Step 3: The users then need to sew up the new trimmed fabric pieces by using the sewing machine and they also need to affix the zipper at the welting corners by using the high-grade thread and the heavy needle to fix it up and they also need to allow the seam of near about 1/2 accordingly.
  4. Step 4: Then they need to use the high-grade staple gun so as to affix the fabric over the entire surface of the couch.
  5. Step 5: The users also need to affix the new trimmed fabric to the deck of the sofa, to the arms and to the inwards back area of the couch. Then, at last, they need to affix the fabric to the outside back and to the outside arms of the couch respectively.
