Here are some of the steps by which the customers can easily replace the Laminate Countertop Sheets:
  1. Gather All The Tools And The Materials: The customers need to start by gathering all the materials they require while performing this procedure like orbital sander, Circular saw, sandpaper pads, vacuum, brush, dowel rods, measuring tape, Masking tape, wood clamps, bits, and edge strips as well.
  2. Use The Orbital Sander: The customers then need to use the orbital sander and then they need to place the sandpaper pads on it. After that move the sander all over the surface of the countertops and the edges as well in order to detach the old laminate finish. The customers then need to wipe away all the dust from the surface of the cabinets by using the vacuum.
  3. Calculate The Size Dimensions: The customers then need to calculate the exact size dimensions of countertop and then notice down the measurements of the countertop on the top surface of the laminate sheet. The customers then need to mark where they need to trim all the excess laminate and then allowing the extra few inches of the laminate on all the corners except at the back side of the wall. The customers are advised to depart the wall corners with an exact factory cut. If in case the customers are unavailable to identify their marks then they need to use the masking tape respectively.
  4. Place The Bit In The Router: The customers then need to place the 1/2-inch bit in the router and then they need to trim the laminate sheet by using the router bit. The customers are advised not to put the immense pressure on cutting the laminate sheets they are advised to slowly allow the hand router to do its respective work. The customers can also trim the laminate sheets by using the circular and then they need to clean all the dust from the laminate sheet by using a soft dry cloth.
  5. Use The Contact Cement: The customers then need to use the contact cement and brush it evenly to the entire surface of the countertop and to the back side of the laminated sheet as well. The customers then need to allow the cement to dry till the time it becomes tacky while touching it.
  6. Trim The Dowels: The customers then need to trim the dowel rods that are near about 1/2 inch in the total diameter and the dowel rods should also be 4 inches excessive long than the overall width of the countertop. The customers then need to spot the trimmed dowels rods adjacent to the countertop length and in an order that the outside trimmed dowels should be 6 inches at the counter edges. The trimmed dowel Rods placed at the center should be near about 12 inches aside. The dowels rods are used to place the laminate sheet in an exact place without letting the two surfaces touch each other.
  7. Place The Laminate Sheet: The customers then need to place the laminate sheet towards its right side upwards and then they need to carefully place the laminate sheets over the dowel rods. The customers then need to line up the back corner in an exact position by the side of the wall.
  8. Drift The Dowels: The customers then need to Start at one end and then drift the dowel rod towards the straight out and then letting the laminate sheet end to get settled on the surface of the countertop. The customers then need to hold the laminate sheet within the adhesive by using the J-roller. They then need to drift the second dowel rod towards the outwards direction and they need to hold laminate in the cement accordingly. The customers need to keep on working with the countertop till the time they won't detach all dowel rods.
  9. Trim The Excess Laminate Sheet: The customers then need to cut all the excess laminate sheet by using the hand router. They also need to trim the corners so that the countertop edges are left with no bulge.
  10. Apply The Cement: The customers then need to apply the cement to the side corners as well as to the front surface of the countertop. The customers then need to let the counter cement to turn into tacky. The customers then need to drift it in the same place by adjusting the top corner along the countertop. They then need to apply the gentle pressure on the strips and keep it in one place by using the J-roller. They then need to affix the strips by using the wood clamps till the time the glue is completely dried.
  11. Cut The Strips: The customers finally need to cut the strips by using the router and they can also grind the rough corners by using the half-round file accordingly.
