In order to replace the bamboo flooring planks, the user needs to follow certain steps which are mentioned below:
  1. Installation Method: The first step is to determine the installation method of the flooring. If in case the flooring is glued to the subfloor, nailed down, or stapled down method, then replacing even one plank can be a difficult task.
  2. Mark: The next step is to mark down the damaged area on the plank that needs to be changed.
  3. Reference Line: Now the user has to make a reference line across the bamboo plank that is to be replaced and carefully drill a row of small holes on the side of the line. Drill the holes very carefully and don't drill into the subfloor.
  4. Chisel: Once the drilling is done then chisel out the plank by carefully chiseling in the drilled holes until the bamboo plank to be replaced is split. In case the user wants to remove the entire plank then the best way is to split the plank into two pieces than separate the two pieces.
  5. Edges Or Remaining Pieces: The next step is to clean up the edges or remaining pieces with the help of the hammer, sharp wood chisel. Besides that clean all the debris that is left on the subfloor. If there are any exposed nails hammer them or remove them.
  6. Cut the new piece: The last step is to cut the replacement piece according to the required length. In order to insert the new piece correctly in the new space cut one side of the grove and tongue.
  7. Apply: The next step is to apply the glue to the bottom of the plank or the user can also face nail the plank to the subfloor. After that carefully angle the groove and tongue edge into the existing plank and fit in smoothly.
