- The first step to this project is to remove any loose shards of wood from the damaged area of your wooden furniture with the help of a wood chisel. Once finished, now wipe the area of your wooden furniture to make it clean by using a cotton cloth.
- Now, you need to coat the chewed area of your wooden banister with grain filler or water-based wood putty. Spread the mixture equally over the damaged areas of the banister by using a putty knife. Allow your water-based putty or grain filler at least one complete hour to fully dry. Follow all assemble product guidance for mixing & application.
- Rub your putty or filler smooth with sandpaper (120 grit). Open a nearby doors & window or turn on a box fan to circulate the fresh air. Coat your banister with latex interior paint or wood stain and then allow it for 12 hours for the paint or stain to dry.
