- Collect All The Required Tools And Materials: Start by gathering all the tools and the materials like measuring tape, cedar shims, circular saw, a wood stain that should be oil-based, and screw gun as well in order to perform this task.
- Use Blocking And Add It To The Ceiling: The users need to add solid support to the beams of the ceiling in order to make it withstand any pressure. If in case the users have detached the ceiling then it would be a great opportunity for the users to add the blocking to the beams of the ceiling. Cut the new blocking to the size dimension of the 2x4 by using the round saw. Once the blocking pieces are trimmed as per the required size then gently affix it to the ceilings by nailing down the strong nails and that too at a space of 2 feet.
- Build The Beams: The users are advised to use the pine timber wood while crafting the beams. The required size of the planks should be 1x4 or it should be of 1x6. Then affix the trimmed pieces all together in order to form the wooden box. Craft as much as wooden boxes as per the requirement.
- Use The Wood Filler: Once the wooden boxes are crafted the users then need to fill all the holes on the wooden boxes by using the wood filler. Once the wood filler is dried completely use the medium grit sandpaper and rub it vigorously over the wood filled areas so as to create a smooth surface accordingly. Then wipe away all the dust from the surface by using the soft cloth.
- Apply The Stain: While painting the beams the users should keep this thing in mind that the paint they are going to use should be oil-based only. Then let the paint dry completely before using the trimmed planks.
