This process is easier to do with the unfinished or the porch's ceilings and if in case the users are having the finished roof then they need to consider getting the ready-made A-framed swing so as to avoid the comparatively unwieldy process that is required to hang the swing from the ceiling. The users can easily hang the swing under the desk at home by following the below-mentioned parts:

Part I- Measure And Select The Material

  • Select The Swing: The users need to start by selecting their swing as there are different types of swing available in the market. For Instance, the user can select the wicker swing, metal swing or the wooden swing. The users will also get the swings in different exciting colors so that is why they can easily choose their desired colors.
  • Select The Rope Style: The users can also select in between the rope or the steel chains. The chains are usually available in two options like the galvanized and the stainless steel. If the user wants their hanging swing to have the rustic look then they can easily use the polyester or the nylon rope. The users are advised that their chain should be near about 7 feet long and 3/4 inches thick.
  • Allow The Swing With Enough Space: The users also need to provide their swing with enough space and they need to plan their swing moving within the arc that can easily extend up to 4 feet. They need to use the measuring tape so as to find out where they want to exactly place their swing. If in case they want to hang the ready-made swing they don't need to look for the joists or the beam in their ceiling but they are advised to make sure that their swing is deep so as to accommodate the readymade frame.

Part II- Install The Important Hardware

  • Affix The Hooks: Start by affixing the hooks of the swing and if in case the swing does not come up with its hooks then at that time they need to affix some hooks. The exact location of affixing the hook will completely depend on the swing designs. The users are advised to place the hooks at the point where the armrests intersect with the seat front corner and then they need to affix the one hook of the swing facing outwards from the swing side and then affix the other hook on the wing at the 2 points that are placed in the equal heights as the hooks of the swing are already connected but the users are advised to place them near the rear side of the seat at the point where the seat meets with the back.
  • Drill The Screw Eyes: Then the users need to drill the screw eyes directly into the ceiling. The screw eye is the metal cringle and after installing the 2 screw eyes the users need to cringle the chain or the rope that is affixed to the swing arms. Then they need to drive their screw eye within the joist or the beams at that exact place where they want to affix their swing. Then they need to place the joist or the thick beam that can easily support up the drilled screw eyes and they need to locate the beam or the joist where they want to install their swing. Then drill the pilot hole directly to it by using the electric drill at that point where the users want to hang their swing and this is the primary step so as to prevent the bream from getting splintering.
  • Use The Eye Bolts: Then the users need to use the eye bolts in the homes that are having the finished ceilings and to do so they need to trim the roof part above the swing so as to get the access over the beams and the joints that can provide the support to these eye screws. Once the users are finished by drilling up the eye bolts then they need to repair the ceiling and this is the common technique that is used in the older homes.

Part III- Finish Up The Assembling Process

  • Hang The Swing: Start by hanging the swing and to do so they need to connect the chain or the rope to the front side of the swing hook and then affix it with the screw eye or the eye bolt on their ceiling and then they need to affix the other rope or chain end with the second hook at the same swing side that they are connected with the other chair or rope end.
  • Test The Swing: Once the users have finished up the hanging process then they need to test their swing and if it properly moves in the back and the forth motion then the users have successfully installed the swing in the proper way and if they find out that the one side is not even with the other then they need to adjust the location of the chain.
  • Affix The Springs: Then, at last, the users need to affix the comfort springs and for the smooth swing experience then they need to affix the comfort springs to each one of the screw eyes or the eye bolts and then affix down the chain at the spring end. The spring provides the bounce bit to the swing and then makes the swing motion a bit more fluid.
