Easy Ways Of Getting Ripples Out Of Carpet

Repairing carpet is much easier as well as economical instead of replacing the entire carpet. When it comes to repairing your carpet, re-stretch the carpet using a knee kicker and then cut the extra pieces, to the carpet looking as good as new. However, for a small ripple, you can simply fix it with your hand or even a rolling pin. Using a little pressure, roll the pin along the wrinkle as long as it is gone, or as long as the edge of the room. In order to get rid of a bigger ripple or a wrinkle in your carpet flooring, you can either use a knee kicker or a carpet power stretcher, both the ways are mentioned below:

Remove The Furniture

First of all, remove all the furniture items from the room, which may include the cabinets and any heavy items that might hinder or restrain repairing your carpet. Take one round on every side of the room, in order to find out the places where the carpet has ripples or loose edges. If necessary, get rid of the threshold over the carpet.

Carpet Knee Kicker

A carpet knee kicker is one of the best ways when it comes to repairing your rippled carpet. As soon as you let go of the carpet from the tack strip, place the knee kicker on the one end of the carpet, move it smoothly through the carpet area and use your knee in order to kick the cushion. Repeat as long as you are contented or pleased with the way your carpet looks. After the completion of this process, if any extra carpet is striking the walls, then just cut it and connect the carpet with the tack strip.

Carpet Power Stretcher

If in case you didn't get the desired result using a knee kicker, then try using the carpet power stretcher, which can be used to stretch the carpets. You need to remove the tack strips again and fasten the power stretcher, using clips, onto the tack strip. As soon as it is clipped, make sure that the teeth of the machine are taking hold of the carpet tight and locked in place. Then, run the machine through the carpet, which in turn will wipe out any wrinkles/ripples. Keep performing this process as long as the entire carpet is free from ripples without any further damage. Finally, attach & fix the tack strips.
