Here we are going to discuss how you will fix the drawer if you will get any problem like ball bearings. Some times tool boxes cabinet drawers are equipped or installed with ball bearings slides. These railings are used for the smooth opening and closing of the drawer. But with the time the lubricant begins to dry out and you will get a problem to open the drawer. Now to fix this problem you need some items. Ball-bearing and drawer slides will work and make your drawer usable again.
- Firstly, open the drawer and take out all the things that you have kept in it. Open and close the drawer more than two times in order to check whether ball bearing or other object prevent your drawer from opening and closing properly or not.
- Pull the drawer out first from its place and then move it upwards. Now check the rails, examine it from both sides of the drawer. Check ball bearing, whether they are rolling easily or not. If anything is making hindrance then simply remove it by hand or with the help of tweezers.
- If you find any bend or kinks on the slides of the drawer, then straighten it out with the help of needle-nose pliers.
- You can use a microfiber cloth as well as mineral oil for the process. Now rub this mineral oil with the help of the cloth on the slides of the drawer and over the ball bearings. You can also use the oil on the other rails.
- Lastly put the drawer back into the recess and check it by opening and closing many times whether it glides smoothly or not.
