With the help of your common sense and few things you can keep all your wooden furniture in a well maintained structure. Now here we will discuss how to keep our wooden chairs in good condition. Here are the easy steps to fix a chair leg support:
  1. Loose joints are the joints which you can usually find in the chairs. Some times you will notice that the joint is broken. This thing is easy to repair instead of throwing away the chair. Simply you have to apply the glue which will be easily available at your nearest hardware store.
  2. Separate the broken joint easily with the help of old screw driver or stiff bladed knife. Note that the joint might be supported with the hidden nails, so you need to remove it carefully. Before you reassemble it make sure the joint is clean and dry.
  3. Sometimes you will experience that the legs of your chair gets loose day by day, this is possible when you use chair excessively. Don't worry these problems can often be repaired easily. Sometimes you can mend it by forcing glue into the joints. But this works only for the short period of time. If you want a permanent solution or repairment for it carefully separate the legs from the frame. If both legs are loose than remove both from the ends. Twist it carefully to break the glue bond. Now simply apply the wedging process on it and reassemble it again.
  4. If tightening the hardware or gluing does not work on your chair then use right-angle braces in order to repair it. You need to bend the brace and the leg so it can get fit easily in the chair leg. Be sure you have to drill the pilot holes before inserting the screws through the brace. This will help the wood from splitting.
  5. If the chair leg starts to separate from the seams where two wood pieces come togeather simply add flat corner braces there which are easily available at hardware store. You also need screws for this repairment to close the gap. Also use clamps to pull the seam tight, drill pilot holes through the bracket and drive the screws.
