Steps To Distress Painted Wood Furniture Using Sandpaper
Distressing is a technique by which the customer can give a new look to the wooden furniture product. The material required to distress the painted wooden furniture with sandpaper includes paint brushes, sandpaper, steel wool, polyurethane, rags, drop cloths, and paint. The steps are mentioned below:
- Prepare Your Space: The first step is to lay the furniture piece in the safe area and remove the hardware components from the wooden furniture piece.
- Sand And Clean The Piece: Sand the entire surface and sharp edges and corners of the wooden furniture. Then clean the sanded dust particles from the furniture by using a clean rag.
- Paint The Piece: Now apply two coats of paint on the furniture. The first coat should be a lighter color and another coat should be a darker color. Wait until it dries.
