Preparing The Piece

First, prepare the space to proceed with the task.
1.Cover Area: First of all mask the area that doesn't need to be painted that includes hardware and metal parts like drawer handles, etc.
2.NewsPaper: Drop the piece of the newspaper beneath the furniture surface.
3.Sanding: Use a fine-grit sanding block to sand the furniture edges in order to give it a distressed look. Ensure to sand the places that need the distressed look rather than sanding the entire surface.
4.Wipe Off: Use a tack cloth or the soft rag to wipe off the sanding residue.

1.Wax: The furniture piece needs to be candle waxed entirely in order to eliminate the additional paint layer.
2.Latex Paint: Drop the little amount of the white antique latex paint on the paint try and apply the single coat on furniture. Once applied follow up by the smooth sanding and allow it to dry completely.
3.Re-waxing: Once the paint is dried re-apply another coat of the wax on the entire piece and apply different color paint over it and then let it dry.
4.Second Coat: The application of the second coat is recommended to apply over the furniture piece let it dry and re-apply the paint and wax once again.
5.Surface Sanding: Sanding laminate furniture surface with a fine-grit sanding block is recommended. Ensure to sand perfectly on the areas like edges, desktop surface, etc. Sanding must be done in a way to get the perfect distressed look.
6.Crackle Medium: Apply the crackle medium using a brush to the entire piece and allow it to sit on the furniture for a while as per the manufacturer time recommendation. Avoid drying it completely.
7.Latex Paint: Apply the coat of the latex paint on the tacky crackled medium surface and let it dry completely to get the crackle look.
8.Sanding: Sanding the prone to wear areas is recommended to get the distressed look. Sanding must be done smoothly to get the best results and follow up by removing the dust with the help of the clean rag.
