Steps For This Process

  1. Prepare The Blinds: First of all, you need to fully lower your window blinds. Wood and faux wood blinds can be entirely closed and the slats of vinyl and aluminum blinds can be often overlapped and should be tilted downward but not entirely closed.
  2. Dust The Blinds: Next you need to hold the bottom of your window blind in your one hand. Wipe your blinds with the help of a microfiber cloth, start your wiping process from the top, and way down. You can also use the vacuum cleaner with the help of a soft dusting brush connection and a low suction setting for removing the dust.
  3. Repeat On The Opposite Side: Next you need to flip your blinds for the other side that is facing towards you and then you need to repeat the previous process with the help of microfiber cloth or your vacuum cleaner.
  4. Use A Damp Towel For Heavily Soiled Blinds: If you see that the dusting process is not enough to clean the blinds, then you can use a microfiber cloth dampened with the help of warm water. If you are working on a wooden blind then you need to be careful that not to get your blinds too wet. A mixture of water & dish soap can be used if your blinds have been unprotected to grease or have any stubborn residue or dust.
  5. Vacuum Excess Dust: Open your blinds & let your blind air dry. Vacuum any leftover dust that has fallen onto your window sill or your floor.
