How To Build A Gaming Desk: Ultimate Way For Building A Gaming Desk

Ultimate Way For Building A Gaming Desk

If you are a great believer of playing games at home but you don't have any gaming desk available, then you can easily build one gaming desk for yourself in order to play games with ease. If you wish to build a gaming desk, then you need to simply go through all the steps one by one carefully:
  1. Measure: To start the process the first step is to check how much space is needed for the gaming setup. Place the gaming gear on a table or on the floor exactly the way the user would like to set it up. After that, measure all the areas that the gear takes. The user also needs to measure the height of the desktop tower if they want to place it under the desk. The gaming desks are usually larger than a typical desk.
  2. Choose A Door: The door is a great option for making excellent gaming surfaces but make sure to get the door that measures at least 26 by 80 inches. The already painted door can be less expensive than getting a piece of wood in the same dimensions. The user needs to look for a door having a flat surface at the local hardware store or buy second-hand door.
  3. Purchase 5 Adjustable Desk Legs: The next step is to buy the 5 Adjustable Desk Legs which are widely available. Purchase legs that the user can screw into the underneath of the desk. It's advisable to select the desk leg color as well as style that will match best with the desk surface.
  4. Wood Pieces: If you want to add a shelf also, then get the extra wood pieces. To create a shelf for the computer screen or screens, one 1 by 6 ft and two 4 by 12-inch wood pieces are needed.
  5. Select A Paint Or Varnish: If the user wants to change the color of the desk then select paint or varnish. For raw lumber to build the desk, the user may want to paint or varnish it to change the appearance. However, if the materials that you are using are already painted, then skip this.
  6. Sand And Stain The Door: If the user wants to change or enhance the color of the door then sand and stain it. Spray the paint in the back and forth motion while holding the can about 8 to 12 inches from the door. Continue the paint until all the surface is covered. Allow the paint to dry completely before flipping the door to the other side. The user may need to apply 2 to 3 coats to get the desired coverage.
  7. Attach The Legs: On all the corners of the door or desk surface attach the legs. Place the legs about 2 to 3 inches from each of the corners, and position one leg in the center of the door, exactly near the back of the desk, this extra leg is for the additional support for the computer screens.
  8. Attach The Shelf: To the main surface of the desk attach the shelf. Use the wood glue to secure down the shelf to the desk’s surface. The user needs to apply a generous amount of glue on the bottom edges of all the risers and then place the shelf on the desk at the desired place. Place the shelf at the back of the desk. Allow the wood glue to dry completely before using the desk.
