Two Easy Ways & Items Required For Aligning The Cabinet Doors

The doors of the cabinet can get misaligned because of the deficient installation or if in case the cabinet doors are banged hard. The most common problem that misaligns the doors of the cabinet is that the hinges used are not crafted for handling heavy pressure. At certain times these hinges get bend during the assembling process or when they are used that let the doors to get crooked or it won't sit properly on the frame of the cabinet. There are mainly two ways by which the users can easily adjust the hinges, one way is vertical and the other way is horizontal. The users can easily align the cabinet doors at home by gathering the below-mentioned materials and then following the below-defined ways:

• Matchbook Cover
• Measuring Tape
• Wood Wedge

Way I: Horizontally Aligning The Door

• Turn The Door: Start by turning the door on with your fingers. If in case the cabinet door bounces or the one cabinet side strokes the frame of the cabinet then the users need to adjust the hinge in a horizontal way. They need to examine the door side and they will find out that the one door side touches the surface of the cabinet and the one side is having the gap.
• Fold The Matchbook Cover: The users need to fold up the cover of the matchbook for almost 4 times. Then they need to unbind the door of the cabinet till it is at the ninety-degree angle with the cabinet and then they need to place the matchbook cover that is folded next to the hinges that are slanted door side that is having the gap. The users are advised not to unfasten the screws and place the cover in between the cabinet and the door side just beneath the hinge in a way so as to form the T-shape. The matchbook cover will be in a perpendicular way to the door side spread it equally to the right and the left hinge side. The users need to slowly shut the door, it will bend down the hinge in the upwards direction and far away within the cabinet side.
• Push Off The Door: The users need to push off the door shut gently and unbind it. They need to detach the cover and then again shut the cabinet door and then examine the door side. If in case the users still find out that the gap persists, then they need to fold the cover matchbook again. Then they need to shut down the cabinet door again and they need to re-examine the gap and bent down the cover again till it is thick enough so as to bend the cabinet hinge as required.

Way II: Vertically Aligning The Door

• Calculate The Distance: Calculate the distance in between the doors of the cabinet at the base and top. If in case there is no door by which the users can take the measurements they need to use the wall or the wood pieces over the cabinet. Then they need to note all the difference that occurs at the base and at the top.
• Unbind The Door: Then unbind the door to near about three inches wide. The users need to thumb the door side by using the hand palm at the door side that calculates more. If in case the door top calculates near about two inches from the focal point and the base calculates near about two and a half inches then thump the door base in the direction as required to bend back the cabinet hinge.
• Bind The Door: Finally the users need to bind the cabinet door and then calculate its measurements again. Then they need to thump the cabinet door again within the same direction as required until it calculates square at the base and at the top.
