2 Easy Methods To Repair Scratched Vinyl Upholstery

Vinyl is an inexpensive item as compared to other items like fake leather, leather or faux leather. Vinyl is a favorite choice for upholstered furniture like chairs & couches. But the vinyl upholstery is not resistant to rip, damages or scratches. The given two methods will help you to remove all the scratches from your vinyl upholstery, if you find any in your upholstery.

Method: 1 Repair Scratches On Vinyl Upholstery

  • First you need to buy a vinyl repair kit from Amazon, then open your vinyl repair kit & place all items in a safe place. Make sure to read the instructions before going ahead with the process. Take a lint-free cloth and dampen it in cool water and then you can clean the vinyl upholstery. Make it entirely dry with the help of a lint-free towel.
  • Decontaminate your vinyl upholstery by wiping with the help of an alcohol pad which is included in your vinyl repair kit. Allow your vinyl upholstery to dry before moving forward. Smooth the repair compound with your wet finger. Let the compound sit on vinyl until dry entirely.
  • Once done, now you have to wipe out the dried vinyl repair compound with your alcohol pad to entirely smooth it out and then again dry it for few times. Now you have to paint the clear coat onto the area. You may have to apply individual applications of your clear coat until the desired look is achieved successfully. Allow this clear coat to dry wholly.
  • Finally you need to add a vinyl conditioner to a clean lint-free cloth & wipe your vinyl upholstery entirely with this cloth.

Method 2: Remove Scuff Marks

  1. Firstly, rub the scuff marks by using a pencil eraser until you have removed all the marks successfully. Continue to Step 2 if you still find the scuff marks.
  2. Simply, dampen an eraser(magic cleaning) with some cool water & smoothly scrub the scuff marks until they are no longer see able. Continue to Step 3 if the scuff marks are still there.
  3. Finally you need to dampen a sponge with some cool water, also sprinkle baking soda onto the sponge, but a very little amount of baking soda, and then rub the scuff marks. Continue rubbing until you've removed the scuff marks from your vinyl upholstery.
