Steps To Remove Urine Stains From Mattress

It is important to remove the urine stains from the mattress as the urine soaks quickly in the mattress and causes bad odor in the mattress. The stains can be either dry or wet and methods to remove both types of stain are mentioned below:

Removing Dry Stains

Dry urine stains can be removed from the mattress by using a hydrogen peroxide solution. The steps are mentioned below to remove the dry urine stains from the mattress:
  1. Prepare Solution: The first step is to prepare a solution by combining hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish wash detergent.
  2. Apply Solution: Next step is to apply solution on the stained area and wait until the mattress dries completely.
  3. Apply Foam Paste: If the stain still exists on the mattress then prepare a foam paste by combining the dry laundry powder and water. Take a spoon and spread foam paste on the stained area of the mattress.
  4. Remove Foam Paste: Allow the foam paste on stained area for 30 minutes and after 30 minutes remove the foam paste from the mattress by using a spoon.
  5. Clean: The last step is to clean and remove all the remaining residues of dry foam from the mattress with the help of vacuum cleaner.

Removing Wet Stains

For removing the wet stains of urine from the mattress customer can use a solution of baking soda and vinegar. The steps are mentioned below to remove wet stains from the mattress:
  1. Remove Excess Urine: The first step is to take a dry cloth and remove excess urine from the mattress.
  2. Sprinkle Baking Soda: Take baking soda and pour it on the remaining urine on the mattress.
  3. Make A Solution: Prepare a solution by combining the water and vinegar in the spray bottle.
  4. Spray A Solution: Spray the solution on the stained area and wait for 5 minutes.
  5. Blot Excess Moisture: After 5 minutes take an old cloth and remove the moisture from the mattress as much as possible.
  6. Sprinkle Baking Soda: Then again pour baking soda on the mattress. This will help in removing any odor from the mattress.
  7. Dry The Mattress: Allow the mattress to dry for about 18 hours. Then clean the baking soda residue from the mattress by using vacuum cleaner.
