Steps To Increase The Height Of A Table

It is a very simple project to raise or increase the height of a table, all you need to have some right tools to perform this task. You can lift a table with the help of lifts, feet or wooden extensions, you have to add these items to the feet of your table. In order to raise or increase the height of a table, you just need to follow all the given steps carefully and achieve the desired result:
  1. First of all, you need to buy short wood pieces from your local hardware store in order to extend your table legs height. You need to buy the pieces which are exactly having the same width as well as the same type of wood as your table legs have. Unfinished wood pieces or pre-made table legs are best and you can saw them as needed.
  2. Now turn your table upside down and then mark the center of each leg of the table. Place the table face on your ground and then use a ruler and measure the center point of each leg of your table. Mark each spot by using a pencil.
  3. After that, you need to drill holes & hammer the tee nuts into the bottom of the table legs. Take an electric drill to make a hole approximately 0.25 inches (0.64 cm) deep at the bottom of each leg of the table and then insert the back of your tee nuts into the holes. Use a hammer to slowly pound the tee nuts into the leg wood.
  4. Now you need to insert the hanger bolts at the center of each piece. Hanger bolts are substantially screws with hanger bolts on the end of piece. You need to measure & mark the center of each extension of wood. Now, drill a hole into each piece that is half the length of hanger bolts and then insert the screw part of your hanger bolts into the wood.
  5. Then you have to attach each leg extension firmly and be sure that your table is even. Carefully screw your all bolts bulge from each wood extension into hammer tee nut on each table leg. Continue screwing the bolts until you meet intransigence to be sure that they are thoroughly attached. Turn over your table to test the likeness of the legs.
  6. Now you need to sand around the area for making the legs look seamless. Use a piece of 100-grit sandpaper to smooth the surface of the wooden extension and the bottom of the table leg. Continue sanding until the line where the two parts meet looks seamless.
  7. Finally, you need to apply paint or the wood stain to the wooden extension to match your table legs. If it is possible then you have to find the same paint or the wood stain to decorate the table to cover all the wooden extensions. Now you need to use paintbrush(small) to apply the finish paint or stain coat evenly. Now allow all the table legs to dry for 12-15 hours before turning over your table.
