Cupping is actually a problem that stems from excessive moisture. There are a number of reasons for the cupping like pipe leaks to a still-wet concrete slab and the improper HVAC usage can cause cupping. Cupping causes the floorboard center to dip as compared to edges, the steps to fix the cupping board are mentioned below:
  1. Moisture: The first important step in fixing the cupping issue is to assess the moisture problems.
  2. Necessary Steps: Take all the necessary steps to stop or fix the moisture source.
  3. Meter: Once it's fixed then take the reading with the help of moisture meter to confirm that the wood is at the correct level according to specifications.
  4. Sand: Do not sand the cupping board, because it will result in a problem called “crowning.”
