How To Disinfect Stainless Steel Sink: Step By Step Process Of Disinfecting Stainless Steel Sink

Step By Step Process Of Disinfecting/Cleaning Stainless Steel Sink

The kitchen sink is used daily but you need to know that it can be affected by the bacteria, so if you want to disinfect your stainless steel sink by yourself then you just need to gather the required items and follow the step by step process afterward. Here is the list of required items and steps for this process:

What You’ll Need?

  • Dish Soap
  • Sponge
  • Bleach
  • Rubber Gloves
  • White Vinegar
  • Clean, Dry Microfiber Cloth Or Dishtowel

Step By Step Process

  • First of all, you need to start with an empty sink, it seems conspicuous but if you are going to clean your sink then it should be empty of all the things, no food, no dishes, nothing.
  • The next thing is to clean your sink with the help of dish soap and warm water. By using dish soap & warm water is your first line of defense and also will do a very good job of getting most of your work done. You can also use a sponge or microfiber but never try to use a metallic cleaning pad because it will scratch your stainless steel.
  • Now you need to fill your sink with water & add bleach. You just need to stop the drain and then fill your sink with water and add about a capful of the bleach per gallon of water and let it sit for at least 5 minutes.
  • Simply wipe down your faucet, meanwhile, simply dip your sponge into your bleach solution and then you need to use it to wipe down your faucet.
  • Now you need to drain your sink and then wipe it down, drain your sink, you need to use a damp sponge to give it a quick wipe-down and let it air dry for few minutes.
  • Finally, you need to polish your sink with vinegar, once your sink is entirely dry, you need to use a diluted vinegar solution (half vinegar & half water) and a clean & dry microfiber cloth or dishtowel to polish your sink.

Tips For This Process

  • You can also use rubber gloves if you want, although they are not indispensable. The diluted bleach solution is strong enough to get your job done but not so potent that you need to be worried about getting it on your skin.
  • If you are anti-bleach then try to use vinegar or hydrogen peroxide instead.
  • Finally, you can use the flour — yes flour! — in order to polish your sink.
