Easy Procedure & Items Required To Make A Curved Bar Stool Seat

The barstools usually add a contemporary look to any interior decors that are usually used in the kitchen areas, home bars and in the outdoor area as well. The users can easily craft the curved bar stool seat by gathering the below-mentioned items and then following the below-given procedure:

Items Required

  • 4 Legs Of Size 70 X 20 X 700
  • 4 Short Rails Of Size 70 X 20 X 160
  • 4 Long Rails Of Size 70 X 20 X 310
  • 5 Seat Slats Of Size 55 X 20 X 300
  • Screws, Biscuit Joiner & Glue
  • Corner Brackets, Mitre Saw & Bandsaw
  • Sash Clamps & Pencil

Procedure

  • Marking Out: The users need to start by the side frames by using the legs and the short rails and to do so they need to align them over the bench surface in a way that they will get assembled and then make a mark over them so as they will know their position within the frame. They also need to mark down the top area of the lower sided rail on the stool leg and it is near about 570 mm from the leg top.
  • Biscuit Joints: Then they need to mark down the short rails and to do so they need to locate the biscuit at the central phase of the end to the 70 mm thick rail and then mark down the 35mm from the corner. Then they need to mark down the leg and to do so start from the leg top mark 35mm and then 605 mm as both of them are the central points for the slots of the biscuits. It is advised to make the clamping jig so as to clamp down the parts while they trim the biscuit slots. The users need to make sure that their slotted parts and the jig lie flat over the exact surface and if in case they are hooked then their joint will be hooked easily.
  • Assemble The Side Frame: The users need to clamp the stool frame without using the glue so as to examine whether the joints will haul up tightly. They also need to make sure that the joint face is hauled up tightly and that too at the identical height and if they are not of the same height then they need to retrim the slots and then examine them again. Once the users are completely satisfied with the frame then they need to glue down the slots of the biscuits and also the touching surfaces of it. Then they need to examine the height of the lower rail and then slowly clamp up the frame and also examine whether the edges are squared or not and then clean off the excess wood glue.
  • Curved Rails: Then the users need to curve down the long rail top and also mark down the central point over the face. Then measure down the 20mm and in order to get the clean curve, the users can use the steel rule or the cardboard piece so as to make the template. Then get rid of the waste by using the band saw and then clean up the curved line by using the sander respectively.
  • Biscuit Joints The Side Frames With The Long Rails: Then the users need to place the adjustable fence over the router and then set up the height of the cutter at 20 mm beneath the fence. Then affix the side frame in the bench vice so as to trim the slots of the biscuit and then mark down the position of the long rail by marking down the biscuit slots central area accordingly.
  • Routering Edges: Then they need to router each side frame corner either the seat slates or the long rails by using the electric sander. The users need to sand down all these allantoid corners to a smooth surface.
  • Assemble The Frame: Then they need to mark down the upper position of each of the long sized rails over the side frames and then affix down the side frames with the long sized rails without using glue as it will help the users to check whether all the joints are hauled tightly and once they are satisfied with their frame then they need to use the wood glue and then clamp the frame and they also need to clean off the unneeded wood glue from the frames and it is difficult to get it removed once it is dried off.
  • Staining And Finishing: Then users are advised to remove all the pencil marks from the surface of the frame and if they have decided to paint down their frame then they need to let the wood glue to get dried off and then sand down the excess dried glue and then apply the varnish over the entire surface of the frame and then allow it to get dried off completely.
  • Connect The Seat Slats: The last thing the user has to do is to affix the seat slats with the frame by using the small brackets. The users are advised to start by affixing the middle slat and then followed by the outside slats and then, at last, space the remaining last 2 slats in the correct position .
