Tips To Care And Maintain Wood Veneer
Wood Veneer is a thin slice of wood that is usually attached to a core panel in order to produce a flat surface. The user can care & maintain wood veneer by following the below-given tips:
- Regular Cleaning:
The simple and the best way to clean residue, debris, and dust from a wood veneer is by wiping it out with a microfiber cloth dampened with clean water. It is necessary for the user to wring out excess liquid from the cloth before wiping the surface with it. After that, the user needs to wipe dry the surface with a dry microfiber cloth.
- Monthly Cleaning:
After every month or so, the user needs to clean the wood veneer with a solution containing water and a few drops of mild liquid soap.
- Avoid Polishes:
The polishes containing wax, ammonia, and silicone should not be used on wood veneer because ammonia causes the wood veneer to change color, split, and crack. Silicone-based polish can leave an unsightly residue behind on the wood veneer surface that eventually destroys its finish. The polish containing wax will give an uneven and cloudy appearance to wood veneer over time.
- Avoid Placing Heavy Objects:
The user need not to place heavy objects on the wood veneer as it can scratch the surface. The user also needs to avoid chipping the wood veneer.
- Use Mats & Coasters:
Apart from that, the user can protect wood veneer with mats & coasters. Mats & Coasters protect the wood veneer from outside debris & watermarks.
