Part I- Preparing The Floor
The Vinyl flooring demands very cautious preparation before proceeding towards the installation process. The vinyl flooring gets adjusted with whatever is installed below it so if in case the users left any sticking nail in their subfloor then the vinyl flooring will get bulged within a span of time. So that is why the users need to level the subfloor before installing the vinyl planks and to do so they need to follow the given steps:
- Detach the old floor: If in case the users are replacing the carpet with the vinyl then most of the vinyl planks can get easily installed over the existing flooring while the other vinyl floorings require to get installed directly over the top surface of the subfloor because of the reason that the existing floors can be irregular. - Take The Measurements: Once the floor is cleaned properly then the users need to take the measurements of the room so as to fit the planks in the perfect order. Then the users need to decide how they are going to lay their vinyl planks as they can stagger the planks like the bricks are usually stacked. In most of the cases, the users need to trim up some vinyl planks so as to get fitted perfectly in the room. - Determine The Board Direction: The vinyl flooring planks should be placed parallel to the largest room side. For example, if the gap is near about 5 to 8 feet then the vinyl planks should run towards the eight-foot wall and this is one of the best layouts for installing the vinyl planks. The users then need to lay the vinyl planks from the left room side and then proceed towards the right side.
