Where To Hang Blinds In Deep Window: Directions & Tips For Hanging Blinds In Deep Window

Directions And Tips For Hanging Blinds In Deep Window

Unlike the outside-mounted blinds, hanging the blinds inside a deep window frame will help to create a cleaner as well as a sleeker look with very little space for damage or detachment. The directions and tips for hanging blinds in the deep window are as follows:
  1. Measurement: Start the process by marking down the approximate bracket location on the left side of the deep window frame. Use a measurement tape and a pencil to mark about 1 1/4 inches away from the window as this will help to keep the blinds from touching the glass.
  2. Mark The Location: In order to make the screw holes on the wall, mark the location. Keep one bracket all along the left side of the deep window frame exactly near the top at the 1 1/4-inch spot and with the help of a pencil mark the holes.
  3. Drill The Holes: At the marked location drill the holes. It is important to use a drill bit smaller than the screws as this will help to avoid creating holes that are too big to securely hold down the screws.
  4. Bracket: Hold the bracket up to the deep window frame, line up the bracket holes with the drilled holes in the wall, and use a screwdriver to secure down the bracket using the screws. Repeat the same process of measuring, marking as well as drilling on the right side of the deep window. To make sure that the brackets are at proper level use a level and this will help blinds to hang correctly.
  5. Large Windows: In case of the large deep window install a center support bracket. Using the same method of 1 1/4-inch away from the glass, similarly install a bracket right in the center of the window frame at the top using the same way as for 2 side brackets.
  6. Headrail: In this step slide the headrail which is the top portion of the blinds in the brackets, but one side at a time, making sure that each side is properly secure before clamping down the bracket covers.

Important Tips

  • It is always helpful to have the helping hand of a second person when hanging up the blinds.
  • For the inside-mount blinds use a measuring tape for measuring the inside of the window frame. Measure the width as well as height measurements of the window for at least 2 times to ensure correct fitting.
  • To fill in all holes on the deep window frame that may be from previous window coverings use drywall spackle.
  • It is the best idea to use the screws as well as the hardware that are supplied by the manufacturer.
