Steps To Spray Paint Bathroom Countertop

  1. Remove: The first step is to remove the caulking around the countertop with the help of the screwdriver. Besides that remove the faucet and drain.
  2. Holes: Now plug the empty holes like faucet holes with something like paper towel, so that the paint will not go through these openings. In order to prevent the sewer gas from coming into the room, simply Put a baggie over the drain pipe and then secure it with a rubber band .
  3. Sanding: The next step is to sand the countertop with the 150 grit followed by the 220 grit.
  4. Drop Cloth: In case of the spray paint it is very important to use the drop cloth as this will help to secure the area that the user doesn't want to be sprayed.
  5. Wipe: Once the sanding is done then Wipe down the countertop with paint thinner in order to make sure that the countertop is completely clean before starting the painting. Besides that also make sure to ventilate the work area well.
  6. Prime: Now apply the primer to the countertop with the help of the roller, the primer is very useful in bonding the paint to the surface. Let the primer dry completely before spraying the paint.
  7. Shake: Before spraying the paint it is very important to shake the spray can very well.
  8. Spray Paint: Now Start spray the paint from the back and carefully work towards the front edge. Apply at least 2 coats, when the first coat dries then apply the second coat.
  9. Clear Coat:, At last, apply the clear coat of the Polyurethane so that the surface will be protected.
